I am a textile artist living in Lancaster, Ohio located in beautiful Southeastern Ohio. About thirty years ago I began making quilts that relied on traditional patterns and colorways but tired of the repetitive quality of the endeavor. My current work is much more personal. I love to travel and many of my quilts are representative of the places I have visited or of the natural world I love so much. They are often representations of photographs taken on a journey, or actually incorporate photographs printed on textiles. My work has a playful, naive quality that features brilliantly colored fabrics collected on my travels or re-purposed clothing purchased in thrift stores.
Employed as a Clinical Social Worker, I utilize my textile art as a way to maintain professional balance and embrace the positive aspects of life. I am a member of SAQA and am the regional representative for Ohio. I am also a member of Common Threads Quilt Guild and Southern Ohio Women Artists. My two cats, Emmy and Clara keep me company in the studio. When not working in the studio I can be found hiking, gardening, bicycling, reading or enjoying a good cup of coffee with friends or family.
